What’s included in the program? 

• Free flights – You will be reimbursed for flights according to the duration of your contract, up to 12 000 RMB.
• Free language lessons – Mandarin classes – 8-15 hours

Cultural Activities: We have prepared intriguing Chinese culture activities for you to better understand quintessential Chinese culture, including but not limited to:

Martial Arts,

Chinese Painting,

Chinese Calligraphy,

Tea Ceremonies,

By offering 30 hours of live-in childcare and English teaching per week, you have an opportunity to explore Chine culture through weekly Mandarin classes, culture immersion activities held by our partner agency and your day-to-day colorful life with your host family.

• Program length 3-12 months
• You give 30 hours of English tutoring & childcare per week
• You study 8-15 hours of Mandarin Classes per week

English tutoring is considered to be the number one reason most Chinese host families would like to host a foreigner in their home. An au pair(homestay tutors main responsibilities are being an English tutor and an elder sibling. An au pair(tutor) will have opportunity to experience authentic Chinese culture by engaging in the family’s activities as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

→Deliver 1.5 - 2.5 hours of planned English lessons on a daily basis to the host children

→ Help the children to learn a second foreign language (optional)

→Carry out fun activities with the children to help them learn English (e.g. reading stories, sharing English songs, drama role-play and games)

→ Help the children with their English homework and studies 

English Tutoring Host Children’s Care Activities

→Waking up the children

→ Taking/picking up children to/from school

→Playing with the children

→Taking the children on outings to park, playgrounds and other activities

→ Go shopping and travelling with host family

→ Have other family activities

→Share some light house work

• Aged between 18 and 29 years  - South Africa citizens only

• Completed your secondary education (matric certificate / school leavers certificate) 

• Proficient in the English language 

• Single with no dependents (never been married/divorced) 

• In good health, physically fit and no current or prior mental conditions or taking any chronic medication 

• A valid passport (or proof that you have applied for one) 

• A valid driver’s license, non-drivers also accepted 

• A police clearance certificate 

• A minimum of 2 child-care references from non-relatives 

• A minimum of 500 hours of babysitting and experience with children under the age of two (preferred) 

• Commitment to a full year (12 months) au pairing in China 

• Fully vaccinated against covid-19 – travel requirement.

• Financially stable and have funds to travel abroad.

• Refundable agency deposit fee of $100 payable once you have been matched with a host family.
• Visa/courier fees - You will be reimbursed for the Visa fee 
• Flights - You will be reimbursed for your flights upon completion of your contract
• Medical examination – You will be charged a fee by the doctor or medical facility that you are attending to complete your medical form.
• International drivers permit if necessary- +/- R280 – Done at an AA store closest to you 
• Police clearance SQ
