As an Au Pair you will live with your host family, care for the children and join in their daily routine. When you are not involved in baby sitting or child care, you will have free time to meet up with other au pairs, study, travel and enjoy culture and surroundings of your Holland home. Your responsibilities may include: awakening the children, dressing infants and toddlers, bathing and playing with the children, preparing meals for the children, looking after their belongings, making the children’s beds, doing their laundry and ironing. Tidying their rooms, cleaning up the kitchen after the children eat or tidying up the playroom with the children, once playtime is over or other things as requested by the host family. You may carry out light household tasks. You may carry out light household tasks for a maximum of 8 hours per day, up to 30 hours per week and you are completely free at least 2 days a week.
1. Aged between 18 and 25;
2. Graduated from secondary school (matric / grade 12);
3. Fluent in English (the ability to converse in Afrikaans is advantageous);
4. South African, Zimbabwean and Namibian citizens;
5. Ability to demonstrate strong ties to your home country;
6. Single with no dependents;
7. Clear police clearance record;
8. A genuine love for children;
9. Two childcare references;
10. Minimum of 500 certifiable hours child care experience (non-family related); Under 2 infant care experience preferred
11. You must be able to provide an up-to-date negative medical test result for Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Tuberculosis (TB), Pregnancy. (This is a requirement of the Dutch Government and not that of Genesis Au Pairs).
12. Must be able to ride a bicycle (Dutch Bakfiets)
13. Legal documents required: Unabridged birth certificate and Letter of non-impediment (certificate declaring non-marital status). Documents to be notarized and apostille .
