You must be prepared to work 45 hours a week and to do light household duties such as preparing meals and lunchboxes for the kids, clearing up the dishes, laundry, dressing beds, vacuuming, transporting kids to school and afterschool activities, help with homework (anything related to the children and yourself). You will have one and a half days off per week, one full weekend off each month as well as two weeks paid leave during your year. You will be expected to do babysitting, but this is part of your 45-hour week. You would need to carry out your responsibilities to the best of your abilities and adhere to the host family house rules (curfew/internet usage/telephone usage/having guests over/smoking). You will be representing your home country and agency whilst abroad so remember to share and experience the cultural exchange, have fun and don’t break the rules!
