Become a Christian Au Pair in America

Go ON MISSION to America. As a Christian au pair you will have the unique opportunity to live with an American family for a year and become involved with their children and with the local church. You will be able to freely enjoy the American culture and have free time at the end to explore America further if you wish.

1. Be between the ages of 18 and 26

2. Have graduated from secondary school

3. Have no criminal record

4. Be proficient in English

5. Have a valid driver's license

6. Have sufficient verifiable babysitting experience

7. No medical conditions

7. Be fully vaccinated to travel to USA

8. Undergo a personal interview with partner agency abroad

9. Be able to commit for one year

10.Be actively involved in church activies and regularly attend services

11. South African, Namibian and Zimbabwean nationals may apply

SUPPORT

· 24 hour support with local agent and Christian au pairs

· Online training program to prepare you for being an au pair

FLIGHTS

· Free International flight ticket to the USA

· Free Domestic flight to local area of host family

· Free Return flight ticket if year is completed.

· Optional second year in USA

FREE TIME

· Two weeks paid vacation

· Most weekends off

· Sundays free for Church

· Regularly scheduled social and cultural activities with other au pairs

ROOM & BOARD

· Private room and full board

FINANCIAL BENEFIT

· A direct weekly payment from the host family of at least $195 ( Salary may differ in different states)

· $500 educational allowance

EXTRAS

 Application fees:

• R500  Registration fee payable to Genesis Au Pairs
• £150(GBP)  Interview fee - Payable to partner agency abroad upon receipt of completed documentation
• £500 (GBP)  Matching/placement fee – Payable to partner agency abroad upon match confirmation

Outside costs involved: 

• USA Visa fee - $185 – Payable to US embassy (+/- R3 600)
• Medical report – A TB Skin and chest X-Ray is required along with medical questionnaire 
• Police clearance – +/- R270 – Payable to PostNet for an Electronic 24-48 hour Criminal record check
• International drivers Permit - +/- R300 – Payable at any AA store closest to you to convert your South African driver’s license to an International driving permit.
